Hawkeyenation.com was founded on April 12th, 2001. Since its inception, it has received roughly 500,000,000 page views with hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the globe. The site was founded by Jon Miller, and he is still the owner and Publisher of the site today.  A West Branch, Iowa native, Jon now lives in the Des Moines area, covering the Hawkeyes through this site as well as his role as Sports Director on the Home and Away Voice of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Newsradio 1040 WHO. Jon is also the co-host of ‘Miller & Deace in the Morning‘ on 1460 KXNO in Des Moines. The program airs from 6 to 8 each weekday morning and can also be heard online at www.kxno.com. In addition to those duties, Jon also writes for the University of Iowa’s Official Sports Report, with some of his offerings appearing on the official website for the Iowa Hawkeyes, www.hawkeyesports.com.

Through the years, HawkeyeNation.com has spawned four of the largest Iowa Hawkeye online fan communities on the internet. The Iowa sites presently on the Rivals and Scout networks were built under the flag of HawkeyeNation.com. Jon was also the co-publisher of Superhawkeye.com, one of the earliest and largest fan sites devoted to Iowa Hawkeye athletics.  HawkeyeNation.com also spawned Hawkeye Nation magazine, which published under that name between the fall of 2003 through the fall of 2009.

This latest version of the website is 100 percent FREE for all visitors, and that will be our goal from today forward. This site has been built and will continue to be modified with the Iowa fan in mind, and your contributions will be a big part of what this site becomes.
