This will be the first ever meeting between these two teams.
Last game, Iowa shot 37 three-point attempts, setting an Iowa record held since 1994.
Iowa has not won a game it didn’t lead at the half (0-1 when tied, 0-3 when trailing). In fact, under Coach Lickliter, Iowa is 5-32 when trailing at the half, and 23-7 when leading at the half.
IOWA PLAYER NOTES:
- Iowa has had a different high scorer in 4 of their first 5 games, the same can be said for leading rebounder.
- Jarryd Cole’s rebounding totals have decreased in every game this season (13, 7, 6, 3, 1) respectively, although he hasn’t had a turnover in 3 straight games.
- Devon Bawinkle has two games this season in which he has not attempted a shot. even though he played 20+ minutes in each of those games.
- Brennan Cougill has shot 8-11 in his last two games, including 3-6 from behind the arc. He only has 1 turnover in 100+ min of action.
- Matt Gatens is shooting 28% from the field, including 25% from 3 pt range. He is 15-16 from the line, however.
- Eric May hasn’t played less than 20 min in any game this year, has at least 2 turnovers in each game, and is shooting 40% on the year.
- Cully Payne has scored in double-figures twice this year, and is averaging 5 assists and 3 turnovers per game over the last 4 games.
- Anthony Tucker has struggled to find his shot, shooting 25% from behind the arc He has also turned the ball over 4 times in each of the last 4 games. He has netted double-figures in two games, though, and has had a 9 assist game earlier in the year.
