Regardless of the level of stock you place in PTL performances (which shouldn’t be much), it has always been a good opportunity to see the new faces in the program as well as see the progress from the returning players…that, and a chance to see them up close and even be able to chit chat a bit, something that fans cannot do during the season.
Rob Howe from HawkeyeInsider.com has several videos you can take a look at, including an interview with 2011 prospect Jarrod Uthoff. Uthoff says he is getting close to narrowing his list of schools down to three or five, possibly as early as Wednesday.
Tom Kakert of HawkeyeReport.com spoke with Brennan Cougill and has the video here.

Basabe has been a topic of much conversation this summer, as he has more than held his own in his PTL action. In fact, one could argue, based on the consensus of the reports I have read, that he has been the biggest star in the league. That’s good news, because it’s just what Iowa needs. He has scored 39, 36 and 29 in his three PTL games and has been a factor on the boards. Devyn Marble has also held his own, scoring 30 last night.
