So, I have a question. I have heard from what I thought was a reliable source that Ferentz would have a window of plays that O’Keefe had to call from when deciding which plays to run during the game. But this article makes it seem like O’Keefe had more freedom with the play calling?

It wasn’t the pro style offense that was the problem. It was the way that KOK called it. When you call a naked bootleg from your own endzone, which results in a fumble/touchdown and injuring you star QB, or you call a HB dive on the first play of every game, it gets predictable. That was the problem…too predictable. We can still do a ton of great things out of a pro set, it is just the way you mix up and call the plays and KOK was wrong more times than not.

Iowa is not looking to win 10 games a year they are looking to gfet to a bowl game and get in the consistent range of 7-10 wins a year

Too bad KOK NEVER figured out how to use the Pro Style offense to create much offense during his tenure. And as suspected when you are 75th in the country in total offense you are going to continue to be 7-5 more times than not.
