The Iowa football team has landed its first two verbal commitments for the class of 2011.
The first to come on board was Marcus Grant (reported Monday night by Rivals.com), a 6-3 190-pound prospect from Massachusetts. You can also see his Scout.com profile here. Both services showed Grant to have offers from UConn and Syracuse at this point in time.
Rob Howe of HawkeyeInsider.com was interviewing Grant for a story this morning when he informed Howe that the Hawks had picked up another verbal, from receiver JaCorey Shepherd from Texas. Shepherd is 5-10, 170 pounds.
