On Wednesday, ESPN announced that it had selected Iowa-ISU for a 2:30 kickoff. That means the game will appear on ABC Regional or on ESPN2, using their reverse mirror they put into place in 2009. No matter where you are, if you get ESPN2, you are going to be able to watch this game.
That day may wind up being one of the best college football games of the year, and you may want to add another DVR to your house.
Here is a list of the 2:30 central start times for that day:
Iowa State at Iowa (ABC/ESPN2)
Michigan at Notre Dame (NBC)
Miami at Ohio State (ESPN)
And how about these games for the night cap:
6:00pm Oregon at Tennessee (ESPN2)
6:30pm Penn State at Alabama (ESPN)
Throw in Florida State at Oklahoma along with Georgia Tech at Kansas that have net yet received a start time or network designation, and you have a great day for college football.
Back to the Iowa-ISU game for a second….2:30 kickoff time…whoa. That’s a lot of time to tailgate and enjoy a great day at Kinnick Stadium. The crowd should be buzzing for the start of that game…as if we needed any more fuel onto the fire.
The last time the two played a 2:30 game was 2005 in Ames. I believe the 2002 Iowa-ISU game had a later starting time. ISU won both of those meetings…here’s to reversing that trend.
