Paint Kinnick Black and Gold

Paint Kinnick Black and Gold

Iowa has set three ‘colorful’ dates on their 2010 home schedule this year. See the details at this link.

One of those dates is for the Iowa-Penn State game on October 2nd. The Iowa coaching staff thought this one up: wouldn’t it look amazing if the Iowa fans alternated their black and gold garb based on the section they were in, giving Kinnick Stadium and a black and gold striped effect?

I saw Boise State do this before. It will look awesome if everyone participates. But that’s the question at hand.

The problem is you have about 20K that will wear grey, pink, green, etc. The gold out looks great at night and that is what the tradition should be.

Great Idea! This would look sweet. If this is just done for the big games the fans will dress accordingly.

This is going to be very, very difficult to coordinate and in the end, I don’t think it looks as cool/intimidating as solid color. See Boise State: http://news.boisestate.edu/update/files/2009/09/pow-09042009.jpg

But I’m on board. I’ll wear the color I’m supposed to and encourage others to do the same. Go Hawks!

If we could get the stadium to look like Boise’s in the picture I’d be happy. It is a neat idea but I like the solid gold or black better. PS I’m on board as well and will wear according to my section.
