And I find it comical how Grant is all about winning all of a sudden. Has the guy ever been on a team that made it out of the first round of the NBA playoffs?
Also a little confused how Grant said he came from a "middle class" family. Was his dad not a star NFL player?

Also, if I was a coach and had the option of taking Grant Hill or Jalen Rose, I would take Grant Hill, a smart well spoken nice guy, versus a kid that prided himself on being a trash talker etc.

It seems as though a lot of people don't understand the concept of past tense. Everything they said about Duke was about how they felt when they were 18 years old. They said they thought Laettner couldn't play but after they played against Duke, they knew he had game. They even said Duke was a better team than them, how is that having sour grapes?

Re: Grant Hill ***** slaps Jalen, again.
Jalen was a producer on the show. He could have done far more to discuss the difference of his perception then and now and how he was misguided. Instead, he let it stand. Think about what he said about Webber as well, and then,
Ask yourself why?

I still can't stand Dook or Meechigan. So you all really care about Jaelan and Grant's cat fight?

He probably thought most viewers would be able to understand the context of the quote, and that it was referring to how he felt at that time, not presently.
What did he say about Webber? That he knew there were no timeouts left?

Re: Grant Hill ***** slaps Jalen, again.
Yes that was Jalens thought as a high school kid.
But his and the other 3 comments on the show and on ESPN (first take or whatever they are on) show they still feel the same way

Rose exhibits an attitude representative of a phenomenon much more responsible for keeping black kids down than Whitey. It's commonly referred to as "crab mentality", or "crabs in a bucket".

Exactly!! Hawkmike, have you seen his subsequent interviews after the show in which he repeatedly avoids the question of how he feels today? He finally managed to spit out "well I never saw Coach K in Detroit, that's for sure" (or something along those lines).
Yes he was young when he took the money and had those points of view...but he seems to have the same outlook on the situation now in regards to some of the things that he thought/said/did.

Yeah I have and in every one he's said that's how I felt when i was seventeen. Not that's how I feel. I'm sure he doesn't call Jay Williams an uncle tom every time he sees him at ESPN.
Does he still feel that Duke only recruits a certain type of black athlete today? Yes, I'm sure he does and he would be right. Does he still feel those black athletes are uncle toms? Probably not, believe it or not your beliefs can change over twenty years.

My God, learn to decipher what people say. You are totally wrong on all accounts. Don't be so naive. He never denied anything about his same thoughts today. Yeah, he says that's the way he felt when he was 17. But when asked about it now, what does he say? Please.

Re: Grant Hill ***** slaps Jalen, again.
Of course, Rose's comments reflect only on Rose and not at all on Hill or the other Duke basketball players. You are what you are, not what somebody else says you are. I can understand, however, why Hill felt the need to respond.

Not to mention how much he earned while he was at Michigan...
