Days like his happen....

Creighton is a good team and everything is just going wrong for the Hawks today. Fran has the program on the right track...fans need to be patient...there are going to be ups and downs.

Re: Days like his happen....

Teams who hover around .500 have games like this and that's what we are though there is nothing fun about getting blasted by a mid-major team though they do look pretty good.

Shouldn't we be used to this by now? I hate it.

With all due respect, how can you look at this game and say "It's just one of those days", and "We're on the right track". The same fundamental flaws we had last year are manifesting themselves this year, and we're getting blown out by a mid major.

Fran must be ****** at Cartwright and Basabe. They haven't been on the court in the last 12+ minutes of this disaster.

Cartwright is sick, so I doubt he is ****** at him. Basabe on the other hand, has another game where he looks like he could care less about being there. THAT is concerning.

Maybe the same way you defend Kirk Ferentz despite suffering losses to teams like Minnesota and failing to fix the fundamental flaws in the football team.

With all due respect Ghost, after watching basketball for 50 years, teams do have "one of those days", where the other team throws up off balanced shots that go in, loose balls fall their way, etc. and the other team(the Hawks) can't buy a basket. It happens, it will happen, to even the best of teams.
Let's not all jump off the bandwagon just yet.
This is a mid major yes, but I recall mid majors (UNI) beating Kansas on a much larger stage lately. It's early... relax.

I don't understand why Olaseni doesn't play more. He is by far our best post defender.

I have never once made a single excuse for Kirk Ferentz. However, the excuses seem to be in high supply here. If this was "one of those days" then conference play is going to be "a bunch of those days".

I don't understand why fans need to jump off a bridge after a loss and get stupid amped by beating three of the worst teams in D1... Creighton is a really good team, and Iowa will bounce back and be ok this season.

Really? You are one of the biggest Ferentz apple polishers on this site.

Many on this board said the same thing about Lick.

Agreed. One of those days is lame.

Today exposed a lot of weaknesses that the Hawks have. No inside presence, horrible shooting, and too many mental lapses in defenses.

I'd like to hope that Fran can get those mistakes corrected.

The only positive I can think of is that the reason Creighton won by so much wasn't because of points off of turnovers (Iowa only had 8), so I mean, that's a good thing, right? At least they weren't air-mailing too many passes or something.
