Bursting Bubble

Well, at least now we don't have to keep up the crazy pipe dream of being on the bubble for the Big Dance. We play like this the rest of the way and we aren't going to any postseason tournaments.

Iowa right back where they've been the last 5 years, cellar dwellers. THIS SUCKS!!!!

Re: Bursting Bubble

I think if you can get hot and beat teams like northwestern and NU on the road... then the NIT dream is still alive.

PSU is 2-7. We are not in the cellar. Did we not learn anything from the contrast between the early season and our last several games? This loss does not end the season.

We were never on any bubble. And anyone who thinks we were, is definitely having a "pipe dream" of some kind.

Iowa could have been 4-4 with a win tonight. Now are at 3-5. They play Indiana Sunday...AT Indiana! That won't end well. 3-6 and we are right there with PSU for 12th. This loss hurts bad.

They won't make the NIT. Not when they can't take advantage of home games they should win.

15 wins tops this season.

Which is still a pretty big improvement over the last 3 years.

Losing to Nebraska at home? That says cellar all the way to me, regardless of record.

I agree. But we're not in the cellar, and this doesn't make it any harder to win the remaining games. Just flush the memory and get after it. We can win any game remaining on the schedule.

And, for the record, I was trying to talk down all the people who said we would be finishing 8-3 in this last stretch. No gimmies. Keep playing.

But not what you expect after beating Wisconsin and Michigan.

True. Upsets happen in college basketball and often don't mean much as far as the direction of the team.

Iowa beat Purdue last year.. ISU won at #7 KSU when ISU was horrid. Both teams had bad seasons then.... but point taken.
