This game plan is insane...

Are we really trying to run against a team that is clearly deeper and more athletic? Cartwright is a turnover machine when we play like this. This is insane.

So lets slow it down and try to outshoot one of the best shooting teams in the country. I don't feel like that will work well either.

You should give Fran a call and tell him to abort his offense/style of play. If it works please call Kirk.

Not every game outcome can be attributed to the coach and his gameplan. Sometimes you're just out-manned. I know message boards like to over estimate their talent, and blame everything on coaching, but 80% of the time the coaching/gameplanning is a push and the team with better talent will very likely win.

What's the goal of any team? To dictate the tempo. The tempo we want to dictate is uptempo. That's our game. Indiana is just better at it than we are. But they're also better in the half court game.

They're just better.

You sir, are a clonebag, attempting to bring us down! This will not be permitted nor tolerated. RELEASE THE KRAKEN!!!!!!

They are it is just the dunk contest I could do without but that had more to do with our half court defense. I have no problem with pushing it and attacking. Most nights against the OSU's/MSU's/Indiana's we will get our heads handed to us either way.

We didn't just play "up-tempo", we'd played drastically faster tonight than we have all season. We pressed more too. I agree with the OP, the gameplan was insane.

There was no way we were going to win that game, playing like that. We weren't comfortable at times offensively playing that fast. We certainly weren't comfortable playing that fast defensively. We blew ourselves out of the game with 2:00 minutes to go in the first half.

We weren't likely to win that game no matter what the game plan was.

We shot 63 percent. We did have 17 turnovers, but that's not a totally atrocious number given the number of possessions there were.

Our half-court defense was the problem. Sure, we gave up transition points, but no more than they did. We could not stop them in the half court and we could not rebound, and neither of those things could be attributed to the pace.

Indiana had 18 offensive rebounds. That's disgusting.

We pressed 1/2 the game. They got a ton of points out of this. We were in a scramble situation on defense a lot. Pace was a major reason the score was 54-37 at half. At that point we were out of the game. We were extending defense, giving up quick and easy shots routinely.

This is what happens when you are in scramble mode on the defensive end, guys are moving to help out defensively and are not blocking out or getting in a good position to rebound.

Couldn't agree more. And we did both of those things well(half court D and rebounding) against Michigan. So we CAN do it.
