Re: Basabe

I thought he played a terrific game tonight. Plenty of hustle and rebounding. No complaints!!!!

Agreed. He hustled and fought for balls down low. Did some dirty work and hit two big FTs at a key time.

Yep, I think this is going to be the role he needs to fill the next two years. He's not going to be the big time player some people hoped but if he can provide 8 and 5 or so off the mention and bring some energy, he can be very valuable.

Re: Basabe

Didnt see him sprint but I did see him scratching his head and yawning with about 1:30 to go while he was sitting on the bench...

Re: Basabe

I think he took a step forward tonight which is nice to see but I want to see more of it. The guy has it in him and we all know it, that is what is so frustrating.

Re: Basabe

Unbelievable...

I thought Basabe played with a lot of intensity and really hustled tonight. He was up in his man's face on defense and worked hard to get rebounds from what I saw.

...and yes I saw him sprint. Like someone already said... I'm pretty sure he went 3/4 the court with the ball and dunked it if I remember correctly.

Re: Basabe

Mel looked great tonight. Or halfcourt sets are much better with him running the pick and roll over anyone else.

Re: Basabe

Threads like this should be deleted; Basabe played well and was involved early from dribble penetration. He is a flippin' sophomore and the new lightning rod of fans.

Re: Basabe

Bad thread but only one poster is negative on Melsahn, the OP.
So, getting 95% approval rating from any Hawk crowd is an accomplishment and makes it apparent that Melsahn had a pretty solid game.

Good team effort tonite to overcome lites out shooting from the arc by minny and bad free throw shooting by the Hawks....way to go Hawks!!

Re: Basabe

I actually loved what we got from Mel tonight. I was a little concerned after watching him in warmups (very nonchalant), but he put those concerns to bed early with the dunk. He battled for rebounds all night, and hung in there defensively. If we get nothing more than that out of him the rest of the way, that'd be enough for me right now.

This thread was born from humble beginnings. A simple question was asked, and d-bag decided to answer it in a condescending manner. We then proceeded to chastise him. Since then a myriad of topics have ranged from the sensible (Who would win in jousting, Tony Mo or Moped Man?), to the ludicrous (STATE actually landing an attractive woman ). You sir, are a clonebag, attempting to bring us down! This will not be permitted nor tolerated. RELEASE THE KRAKEN!!!!!!
