Re: Predict the size of the beatdown on Thursday
If we play perimeter defense it could be good but if not if feel the beatdown could go the other way. 70-63 hawks hopefully fran has that defense ready.

Please change your avatar.
Do we know who the refs will be? If Hightower or Valentine, I will take the home team by 8 (Hawks down three at end and then foul, NU hits FTs to stretch lead and 4 fouls on NU go uncalled down the stretch).
If anyone other than Hightower or Valentine, it will come down to the last shot and it will be either team's game.

Re: Predict the size of the beatdown on Thursday
I hope I'm wrong but the Hawks can't play consistently enough yet. We have had a few good games on the defensive end but think that Shurna may be too tough for us to defend. I thought Nebraska was going to be a blow out and was dead wrong on that. I say that NW pulls this one out and probably by at least 12. NW 77 Iowa 62.
Having said that, I think that after this game we go on to win 3 of the next 4. Just something doesn't feel right when it comes to this game. Maybe because NW always has our number.

It prolly won't be Shurna that beats us, it will be the back door cuts when we start out in man guarding the perimeter and then we'll go to zone and then it will be a barrage of three pointers shot at a 66% clip that will do us in.

Re: Predict the size of the beatdown on Thursday
I'd like to think I'm wrong, but NW has had our number in recent years.. NW 72, Hawks 71 with a 3 at the buzzer.

Re: Predict the size of the beatdown on Thursday
Well if were going to win those next 16-17 games and go to the NC then I'll go with the Hawks. I'll start the game thread when it's time.

Re: Predict the size of the beatdown on Thursday
Hawks again jump to an early double digit lead and for the 3rd game in a row and not blow the lead for the 2nd game in a row.
Basabe plays his best game of the year
highlights
Hawks shoot 64.2%
Gatens 15 points 2 assists 5 Boards
Basabe 17 points, 12 Boards
White 17 points, 7 boards
Marble 14 points, 4 Assists
McCabe 10 points, 4 PF
Cartwright 7 points, 6 Assists, 3 sets of broken ankles.
88-68 win

Thanks for the support. The ONLY way Iowa loses this game is if the officials cost us the game or if NU hits a lucky buzzer beater to win it.
