Jan 19,2008 Iowa beat Michigan at home 68-60
Jan 23,2008 Iowa lost to Indiana on the road 65-43
Jan 26,2008 Iowa beat Penn St at home 64-49
Jan 30,2008 Iowa lost at Purdue 51-50
Feb 2,2008 Iowa beat Ohio St at home 53-48
Feb 6,2008 Iowa lost to Wisconsin at home 60-54
Feb 9,2008 Iowa lost at Minnesota 63-50
Feb 14,2008 Iowa lost to Michigan at home 60-52
Feb 19,2008 Iowa beat Northwestern 53-51
Feb 23,2008 Iowa lost at MSU 66-52
Feb 27,2008 Iowa lost at Penn St 65-64
Mar 1,2008 Iowa lost to Illinois at home 58-47
Mar 4,2008 Iowa won at Northwestern 67-62

Last year they played well in the final 6 games of the regular season.
Losing at home to Purdue by 4 points.
Beating Michigan at home by 10 points
Losing at MSU by 10
Winning at Northwestern by 6
Losing at home to Ohio St by 2
Beating Penn St by 8

I really don't see where this year is any different than the first two,if anything I don't think this year is as good as we have not beaten a really good team this season.
Some excellent points here. Lick in both previous years had the team playing well for stretches. However it never transitioned to a successful next season because of player transfers. I don't think anyone knows what will happen if he keeps the core of his team intact. That is why if he looses key players again we shouldn't give him a fourth year but if he can keep the team together it will be interesting to see what happens. Maybe they play well for longer stretches.

Sure you could chalk that up if it happened one or two times. If something is happening night in and night out (the exception is Michigan lately) then there is a reason for it. The reason is that Iowa is playing better basketball. It is a STUPID idea that somehow Iowa is just LUCKY enough to get every opponents worse game. Plus it was be spastically improbable to get every teams "worse effort" all the time.....

Suppose we buy the premise of this article...when can we expect a winning season?
Because in the one stat that matters, Iowa has regressed(seriously).

Next year should be close to .500 if not over. The 4 recruits, plus Tucker back. Another year. Finally more than 1 guy who's been in the system more than 1 year.

Spank, do you mean .500 overall or in B10. To me, .500 overall should never be acceptable for a major conference team with the patsies played in non conference. Now .500 in the B10 would totally change my opinion of Lick's ability to succeed at Iowa.
