Re: Beating ISU
I agree, however if the Hawks keeps shooting 12% from beyond the arc they're not going to beat anyone decent. They got by SD by overpowering the paint. iSu doesn't have a great inside game so if the Hawks can at least shoot 30% from 3 they'll have a chance to win. Woodbury needs to try and stay out of foul trouble. He did a good job last night and would of came back in if it was a close game. They're a different team when he's on the court.

Re: Beating ISU
Western Kentucky is 7-2. Maybe that will end up being considered a good win at the end of the season.
I know, I know...it's a stretch. But this whole thread is a stretch so might as well include it.You're in the Danger Zone!

Re: Beating ISU
I just hope Iowa can win. Seriously Iowa needs something to silence the ISU posters/local media, etc... All that ever seems on TV/Radio in Iowa is how ISU is on the way up and Iowa is still a step behind. They need to win big like ISU did last year. If they do win, I agree it will be a good win come end of the regular season and if this Iowa team has a good enough record to be considered on the bubble for the NCAA tourney.

Re: Beating ISU
I feel we need to sweep UNI and Iowa State, beat the rest of the cupcakes and then go 10-8 in the Big Ten to dance.

Re: Beating ISU
I'm confuzed on why we need to "cancel out" one of our two losses.
Losing on a neutral court to Wichita State and on the road to Virginia Tech, who are both undefeated, is not going to be the reason Iowa's bubble bursts. If it bursts at all."You just lost your mancard for a year...and you're on probation. Really, dude?"- hawkdrummer1 to MNHawkeyeFreak

Re: Beating ISU
It is too early to tell just how good or bad those two losses are; the thing is nobody would be talking about them as good or bad wins right now if Iowa had just done the job and won. Everyone would just be saying we'll see how good or bad the wins were come postseason.
VT could tank in league and WSU could finish as low as fifth.

Re: Beating ISU
Its not that Iowa's losses were bad, but more missed opportunities to build a resume.
Iowa has a fantastic chance to win this. I cant remember the last time ISU faced an Iowa team that had 6 guys returning that played significant minutes. This Iowa team has experience, and more talent than they have had in a while.
Im not expecting ISU to win this Friday.

Re: Beating ISU
This is a sad thread. Beating ISU is equal to beating Simpson. They suck. We should not be elavating them higher than they belong. I cannot believe this. Let's beat them and move on.
