No they didn't know they were doing it in front of a victim's family member but how many jokes have you made about this situation? I am guessing none.

Have you taken a second to look around and evaluate the society we live in today? People wear shirts to football games that say "Iowa ******* City". Nothing is off limits or shocking anymore. It's no different than people telling MJ death jokes hours after he died.

If the abuse scandal happened at Iowa, students at Iowa would be doing the same thing.

Obviously, making light of this situation isn't appropriate, and I'm not defending the students this girl overheard. I'm just saying that if you think it would be different at Iowa or anywhere else, you are delusional. Kids will be kids, dumb as they may be.
