Or, they paid him off. Gave him some cash to destroy his hard drive and PC, and get the hell outta town.

If this was Hollywood, you'd figure that what transpired was Gricar starts looking into it, some wealthy 2nd Mile boosters pay him off....then Gricar gets greedy and starts demanding more and more...until the boosters finally decide it's just cheaper and easier to off him.

I'm gonna go start working on my screenplay.
