Former Penn State coach Joe Paterno has a treatable form of lung cancer, according to his son.


Scott Paterno says in a statement provided to The Associated Press by a family representative that the 84-year-old Joe Paterno is undergoing treatment and that "his doctors are optimistic he will make a full recovery."

So it's now a proven fact that Paterno knew the full story of what was going on? Trust me, I don't think the guy is completely innocent but the cancer thing comes from a check-up a few weeks ago and is not in an effort to curry favor IMO.

I think the family coming out with this information is an obvious attempt at that. I agree that it seems like McQueary is getting off easy as compared to JoePa, but JoePa was the captain of the ship. It's becoming more and more evident that he helped to harbor a sicko that he had to of known was a pedophile (or at least known that he wasn't right in the head when it came to young boys).
