Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed this more than ever this year. Just a quick way to stop the tempo of a game.

Re: Fainting Wolverines?

It's a cheap way to gain an in-game advantage and I hope something is done to stop it.

How can they stop it? Ref can't say get up you're not hurt, they can't make that determination. Best thing they could do is if they have to stop play to get you off field, you are out for an entire series of downs not just one down.

Yes, or even two series of downs. If someone wants to pretend to be hurt, make them pay the price.

Re: Fainting Wolverines?

What if they have a cramp? Stinger? Usually only a few plays at most. Wind knocked out? It's not as easy as just putting a series on an injury and calling it good. You are going to have the exact opposite with guys maybe trying to play with injuries that they shouldn't be playing with. Sort of a catch 22. But I suppose if they are trying to insure player safety, this might be another step in that direction.

They can always review tape like the NFL and suspend players rather than fining them. Worthy at MSU admitted he was faking injuries and nothing out of the B1G.

I wouldn't necessarily say that. People have been blatantly faking injuries against Oregon for the past couple years now.

You sir, are a clonebag, attempting to bring us down! This will not be permitted nor tolerated. RELEASE THE KRAKEN!!!!!!

Re: Fainting Wolverines?

If they made the player sit until the next series, there would be no more fake injuries.

Re:Fainting Wolverines?

If it is an injury that would warrant stoppage of play, don't you think that player should be checked so no further serious injury will occur? Easily make a case for an entire series to get evaluated.

I'll take it one step farther and say the rest of the quarter. If the team doesn't want the player to be out for the quarter then they have the option of burning a timeout.
