This talks about how the PSU football program went from being accessible to the opposite, and how that 'possibly' fostered an environment where what took place and PSU was possible...not that Sandusky's behavior was encouraged, but how the outside not knowing anything about it led to things being perhaps covered up.

Marc Morehouse of The Gazette retweeted the item, and added 'This is Iowa'.

Everything I have heard about KF is that he is a great human being, I've always hoped that were true. Therefore, unde that premise, I would assume that although Iowa has become closed off, KF would never allow a scandal of this magnitude happen without him doing what needed to be done.

I know what he's trying to say, but it's a really bad idea to link Iowa to PSU covering up for a child rapist.

That's why twitter can be dangerous for journalists. In a full article he can explore the similarities between how the two schools treat the media and carefully insinuate that it's important for the media to be involved.

It was pretty clear that Marc was referring to the general attitude towards the media that the football program has. There isn't much access given into what happens inside "Fort Kinnick" as I've heard Jon refer to the Iowa football program.

I believe he is referring to the press conference practices and set ups at Iowa, which are very much what like this article suggests are the practices at Penn State.

I agree with everything you just posted and I think Marc is right for the most part that it's important that the media does their job as watchdogs and not get complacent.

That said, as you've stated many times on here and on your radio show, that PSU mess is radioactive. You can't just throw out a "this is Iowa" after a PSU coverup article without (almost certainly unintentionally) implying that Iowa is involved in similar activities.

I agree. Comparing the university of Iowa football program to Penn St would harbored a known pedophile is stupid and irresponsible.
