Christ as Lord and Savior…It’s NOT about being religious….
**note… I’m a work in progress…. This is what I know(think I know) at the moment… I’ll be smarter down the road… J
I’m talking about seeking Jesus Christ and studying His teachings. Learning how He wants us to live our lives. How he wants us to treat other people... putting those lessons to work in our daily lives..
It’s NOT about judging others or thinking we are better than others.... it’s about including others in our Love for Christ and His Love for all of us. We all fall short, we all sin, we are all imperfect,…. yet we can be perfect IN Christ. Judgment is up to God. I’m not suggesting Christians ignore sin or accept sin. Jesus Christ loves us despite our sin… that is our example. How can we as Christians possible share the love of Christ if all we do is stand in judgment of people? It’s not about accepting sin…it’s about loving people in hopes that they will see the love of Jesus in us/through us…. and once the light of Christ makes its way in THEN real change can take place in someone’s life. Whether or not you believe in Jesus shouldn’t (and won’t) change the way I treat you.
Jesus will forgive our sin and we should forgive others as Christ forgives us…..Does this mean there won’t be consequences for our sin in this world? NO…. give to Cesar what is Cesar’s… You will have to live by the parameters of this world too. Look around… prisons, failed marriages, child abuse, drug abuse, cyclone fans, there is an endless list of heartache that results from sin in this world. For ALL of us…. there will be suffering and hard times in this world…BUT… it’s been my experience that with Jesus in my life I’ve been better able to stand up to these hard times. AND…. There will be a day when I suffer no more.
Life isn’t going to be free from trouble just because we choose to be a Christian… but if we believe, study, and learn the teachings of Christ, focusing on Him and incorporating those lessons into our lives...then there is peace, calmness, happiness, and contentment that comes from that….in the midst of this crazy world we live in.
