Re: Husker fans enjoy Iowa loss
Kentucky did not win 63-10 is was 63-28 still a blowout no less but the fact you cant even fact check makes your argument even more pathetic.
Why you even bring up you beating ISU this year who beat us last year is beyond me, by the same logic we blasted AZ last year and they beat you this year.

We beat a decent Idaho team who is coming of an 8-4 season with a bowl win. They also have a QB who according to Mel Kiper is his #3 QB behind Jake Locker and Christian Ponder.
Eastern Illinois is a D2 school all D2 schools are garbage and no one should be allowed to schedule them. NU included.
Ball State is as laughable as WKU, the won 2 games last year and are already 1-2.
So the way I look at it, you dont have much room to talk about SOS so far. EIU=SDSU, ISU=Idaho, BSU=WKU. The only area you have an edge is AZ over UW which there was no way to tell when it was scheduled how good they were going to be. So give me a break on the SOS B.S.Last edited by billdozer15; 09-24-2010 at 10:35 AM.

Re: Husker fans enjoy Iowa loss
This is true. Only when Iowa loses are they talked about. It's blatantly obvious and pathetic.
Not really sure why Nebraska fans hate Iowa other than that Iowa has stolen some attention from their team the last few years.
Living in Omaha as I do I can't wait to play Nebraska. I'm thrilled that it's the last game of the year. Kirk's teams tend to peak at the end of the year and I like our chances. I can't WAIT to win that game and then just reply with one word the rest of the year......SCOREBOARD.... blah blah blah....SCOREBOARD! It's going to be fun.

Re: Husker fans enjoy Iowa loss
Does this message string really need to continue all the way up to the Texas v Nebraska game? Feel free to keep it going but you are wasting a lot of energy in my view. This thread will be a moot point in a couple of weeks, trust me.

Re: Husker fans enjoy Iowa loss
I will agree whole-heartedly that Nebraska fans in NW Iowa can be awful, having lived there for many years...I never liked Iowa because they just weren't very good at that time, plus PSU, Michigan and Ohio St have way better tradition and uniforms IMO. Hell, i honestly really hated NU because of their NW Iowa fan base until i moved to the Omaha/Lincoln area, and subsequently learned:
1) 95% of Nebraska fans are, in fact, really freaking awesome,
2) that Iowa is actually "the other side of the river", and
3) how a generationally successful football program is run, including how to work harder & smarter than the competition, handle success, rinse, & repeat.

Re: Husker fans enjoy Iowa loss
I didn't say our schedule was wasn't totally weak. But you were raggin on our easy team we play this week when you've got ball state this weekend. And arizona wasn't ranked at the beginning of the season either so don't give me that ranked team garbage. No one is saying your schedule isn't a tough one, can you just let that one go. Yea ISU beat us last year its not like they've never beat iowa Oh wait that was the past right.

Re: Husker fans enjoy Iowa loss
So you're expecting the Omaha TV stations & OWH to constanly send reporters to Iowa City to cover Iowa the way they cover Nebraska? The Des Moines media doesn't even do that.
I'm a daily reader of the OWH's website and they have stories relating to Iowa football posted all the time, including two articles today, which i'm assuming are in the Iowa Edition of the OWH as well.
I think you're exagrrating a bit that the portions of Western Iowa & SW Iowa that are in the Omaha DMA has more TV sets than what's on the Nebraska side of the river. Most locales in Western Iowa & SW Iowa that are serviced by Meidacom in addition to the Omaha locals, also have Des Moines locals.Last edited by garn; 09-24-2010 at 11:38 AM.

Re: Husker fans enjoy Iowa loss
Again, look at my original post. When did I say anything negative about Iowa football. I think Kirk is an excellent coach and I like how he does things. I can only speak for myself and people I know, but I can't ever remember talking about Iowa football, cuz I (and most Nebraska fans) DON'T CARE. Iowa has never been a rival to us, and with the exception of the last few years, has really never been our equal. Our repsonse to Iowa losing is just to take a cut at the a-hole Hawk fans who are overly obsessed with Nebraska. The Husker boards I have seen didn't have any (or little) mention of Iowa until we joined the Big 10.
I still don't hate Iowa football. I dislike their a-hole fans (not all are a-holes).
What really needs to be addressed is not my dislike for a-holes, but your obsession with a team you hate.Last edited by 74Hunter; 09-24-2010 at 12:06 PM.

Re: Husker fans enjoy Iowa loss
I agree.
Shocking! An OMAHA newspaper and OMAHA TV stations cover Nebraska issues, what are they thinking.
Also, I'm doubting that there are more TV sets and households in Western Iowa as opposed to the Omaha/Lincoln areas, which I think service about 1.4 million Nebraskans. Even so, I would not read the Des Moines Register or watch a Des Moines TV station hoping to get a bunch of Husker coverage. Let's be real.

Re: Husker fans enjoy Iowa loss
You're on an Iowa board, and I'm obsessed with hate for Nebraska? You're the one who "doesn't care", yet you're here.
As far as hating the a-hole Iowa fans... EVERY fan base has them. Yes, even your own fan base. Hence the elitism statement.
I don't hate Nebraska football. I respect the heck out of the program, and it's tradition. I guess the one thing in common is that we both hate the "a-hole fans".
See we found common ground

Re: Husker fans enjoy Iowa loss
I joined this board because nebraska was joining the big 10. And i live in iowa and have been surrounded by hawkeye fans my entire life. I just wanted to talk football with some fellow passionate fans. Even when we play next year ill still come on here and talk college ball. I freekin LOVE college football, and i love talking about it. So why not talk to opposing fan bases about it. No disrespect, no smack talk just football talk.
