RB Brandon Wegher no longer with team | OU Sports
Stoop's comment is great.

Re: Wegher bombs
He's probably burned out, and just can't face that reality. Too bad for him, he won't recognize what he lost until it's too late to get it back - which I think has already happened to a large extent. Another example of Shaw's great quotation, "Youth is wasted on the young."
I do like Stoops' comment though.

Re: Wegher bombs
“We’ve got a few backs as it is,” Stoops said, “so we’ll be OK.”
That's life in the Big City, err, well, City.

Response to Coker Thread hater:
This thread was born from humble beginnings. A simple question was asked, and d-bag decided to answer it in a condescending manner. We then proceeded to chastise him. Since then a myriad of topics have ranged from the sensible (Who would win in jousting, Tony Mo or Moped Man?), to the ludicrous (STATE actually landing an attractive woman ). You sir, are a clonebag, attempting to bring us down! This will not be permitted nor tolerated. RELEASE THE KRAKEN!!!!!!

Re: Wegher bombs
Maybe Wegher ran into this:
All time bowl wins: Ricky Stanzi: 3
Iowa State: 3

Re: Wegher bombs
Wegher made his bed and was crushed by it, so no sympathies from me there. Have the Sooners even had a practice since he joined the team? That's gotta be one mixed up kid.
Even if BW wasn't the starter at Iowa in '10, it's not like he was going to waste away on the bench. He was talented enough to get some carries, return some punts, line up in the slot, etc. And since the backup is always one big hit away from being the starter, I highly doubt he got out of town for strictly playing time reasons.
Your hatred of Wegher is pretty baffling to me. For a true freshman I thought he did a pretty decent job in '09. ARob had quicker feet and was better in traffic and MAYBE had a toughness edge, but Wegher had more top end speed, was better in the open field, better at the goal line, and better catching the ball out of the backfield.
There was still plenty of room for both on the team - until Marcus Coker was ready to play, anyway.

Re: Wegher bombs
If he went to ISU, he'd have to play defense...because he wouldn't crack the two deep at RB. That said, I think he might make a pretty solid Strong Safety...so bring him on.

Re: Wegher bombs
He was a decent player who appeared to have a huge upside. We really could have used him last season. I won't go so far as to suggest that if he had played A-Rob might have avoided the concussions, but ... it sure would have helped to have a strong second back.
We've got Coker now, plus a lot of young talent. But I think Brandon could have been a huge contributor had he stayed.
