That's a good point, but the purpose of open/free practices is FOR THE FANS. A player's personal time eating dinner, shopping, driving, or whatever is different. It's not out of line for a fan to try to get a player's attention at a fan oriented event. He didn't ask to be bro's with the guy or to hang out.

Open practice is open because owners realized pathetic overweight NFL superfans, or even more pathetic, fans from players college teams would show up, stand around for 4 hours to watch the team practice, then go buy a bunch of team gear and stuff.

Just because it's not uncommon for a 40 year old man (man is used loosely) wearing ex college stuff to jump around yelling "GREENWAY, GREENWAY, GREENWAY!" until he looks over and waves (causing the "man" to giggle like a little school girl) doesn't mean it isn't pathetic.

I have been pretty uniform in my assertion that a grown man seeking autographs from pro athletes is creepy and I think that is generally accepted across at least 3/4ths of the populace. Add to that the fact that this guy dressed in a certain way to attempt to garner attention and loitered, by his own admission, 8 freaking hours in the heat on a random Wednesday with his buddies while the 90% of working age 'Merikans with jobs were at work, with the hopes of getting an autograph, and you have restraining order creepy. If you proles don't see that, well, nevermind.

Whatever respect Greenway lost in this troglodyte's eyes, he gained in mine. Helluva job Greenway.
