My choice would be four superconferences, with eight divisions. The champions of the eight divisions play in the four major bowls based on seeding and conference alignment.

Then semi's and a final.

If you can't get in a superconference, you need to go FCS.

What do you have against conference title games in December being the quasi- quarterfinals of this tourny? To me, that makes complete sense.

As for the non-BCS FBS school that you work at...why would superconferences impact your school. Dropping down, how would that save money? Less schollys? Would they still get lucrative dates with BCS schools? Would you envision the super 4 as playing only other BCS schools, even in the non-conference? Or just making it one big 64 team conference, with every game a playoff type game, with winners advancing and losers going into a losers bracket so we could feature an Iowa vs Washington St game as a wrapup game in November?

As with everything else today, there are now reports coming out that the initial report is false. Who knows??

I've been saying for a year that have teams 5-8 in BCS bowls, but simply tell them, "Thanks for coming, here's your money, now give us a good game".

For plus-one, have #1 play #4, and #2 play #3, with the two winners meeting in the BCS Championship game. And...make sure the BCS Championship is at as neutral a site as possible, and do NOT have a "repeat" game at on of the BCS sites. Maybe even have at the site of that coming year's Super Bowl. Just as long as one of the 1-4 or 2-3 winners isn't staying at the bowl site an extra week while the other winner has to travel. To make it fair, both teams should have to travel.
