I thought NE would struggle against NU

I know it is easy for me to say now, but I really thought NE would struggle against Northwestern.

To have success against Northwestern, you need to throw it deep against them. For years, Iowa has tried to dominate the line of scrimmage and lost. Only by opening it up and throwing it verticle did Iowa have success. Martinez is not going to be able to do that. In all honestly, the NE/NU game was a mirror image of what we have seen in Iowa/NU games.

Re: I thought NE would struggle against NU

I imagine when we play Nebraska we will see a similar strategy defensively to the one we had against Michigan. I could tell we sacrificed pass rush to drop back and prevent the scramble. I imagine that's what we'll do that week.

But yeah, I agree, when I think Nebraska I think strong run game, not passing game and that type of one dimensional offense is exploitable.

I agree completely. Iowa will sell out to stop NE's running game. Safety's might completely ignore the passing game.
