He was a pro offensive lineman. TE's do the same thing as O-lineman half the time, pretty good experience if you ask me.

there are a lot of players who dont coach the position they played. sometimes what you did becomes so natural you dont know how to teach it. offensive player teaching defense or vice versa happens more than you know. one of those situations is actually the iowa hc. ferentz is known as a creator of the zone blocking and a great ol coach. yet he played linebacker in college. it isnt above the realm of possibility that brian coach d-line.
i personally believe if brian ever comes to iowa it will be as o-line coach but i wont rule it out. also it looks like woods will be d-line coach and last i checked he was a linebacker but those arent basically the same position so how would he do that? coaches coach and they can usually coach many things and both sides of the ball. they just focus on one to make it simpler on them.
