DC Hired

From B1G Blogon ESPN: Iowa’s defensive coordinator position remains unfilled after Norm Parker’s announced retirement more than a month ago. Tuesday, Barta said “I don’t know exactly when (Iowa Coach Kirk Ferentz will) make the announcement” about Parker’s replacement.

Sounds like it is done and just waiting to do announcement. Why wait?

Re: DC Hired

1) Not sure that necessarily means someone has been hired
2) IMHO the reason for no announcement is either that the candidate was or still is participating in NFL action or KF feels strategically it is better to wait until after signing day.

And don't forget this is a head coach who doesn't exactly rush to the microphones on anything. It could well be he's waiting until his presser on signings to also announce the DC for whatever reason. If so, poor PR and marketing for Iowa football, but that's just my opinion. YMMV.

Dead on Tweeter. The KF PR train left without a conductor yet again. They can't get the spin thing right ever!

LOL. PR train? You really think the only people that really need to know the info don't? Just because you or some other fan doesn't know doesn't make it bad PR just gets fans that need to know everything panties in a bunch.

Re: DC Hired

I can't believe we haven't hired someone yet. Waiting until after signing day? How is that advantageous for Iowa at all? Waiting for an NFL coach to be out of the playoffs? Why, there is no real reasoning to wait to announce because of that...NFL coaches can keep coaching through the playoffs...

I don't mind taking your time and getting it right, but Iowa's potential future DC's should have been a short list to begin with.

what leads you to believe it wasn't and the person has already been hired?

why do people think that since they haven't been personally informed that someone hasn't been hired?
