Ex-Hawkeye Aaron Kampman wins character award - The Daily Iowan

Never heard of this award. From article:

Former Iowa linebacker and defensive lineman Aaron Kampman will be awarded the 2012 Robert D. Ray Pillar of Character Award, according to a release.

The award is given to individuals that "consistently demonstrate good character as a visible role model," the release said. It's named after former Gov. Robert D. Ray and is presented by Character Counts in Iowa.
