It's not a question of whether KF has the right to drag out the process indefinitely--as the head coach, he does. But the secretiveness and exorbitant length of time needed make these decisions does seem to be uniquely KF and Iowa.
We are coming off two highly disappointing seasons and 5 or more losses in 5 of the last 7 years. The hiring process of two separate coordinators was a chance to energize the fan base (regardless of who was ultimately hired), and it couldn't have been more terminally boring or anticlimactic. As has been said many times before, the next time the UI athletic department takes advantage of a favorable
PR opportunity, it will be the first time.
