Can somebody please tell me why we had to wait this long to make an announcement like this? Especially, when we all knew what the decision was going to be. It looks bad.

I mean, how predictable can we be. Is Iowa football capable of doing anything that we can't see coming a mile away. It would make sense to promote from within if we have had success, but we have struggled badly.

Thanks for starting this thread. This is an important topic we really need to discuss. I am sick of all of these threads praising KF. Are we not allowed to question this hire at all?

I think you should go right to the top with your concerns.

With all these PR shanks, I wouldn't be surprised if tomorrow they just shut the whole football program down. where there is look bad smoke, there is certainly look bad fire.

Because it means more 7-5 seasons! We have struggled, so we could really use some new blood.

It's not rocket science. We waited because Ferentz wanted to talk to coaches on either the giants and or pats to see what their interest level was in it. He couldn't get that answer till after the super bowl when you can actually ask for and get permission to do so. Unlike alot of other programs he probably didn't try to do it under the table and did it by the rules. So hence the delay. Parker obviously wasn't the #1 canidate for it but he now has it. I'm not as worried about that as I am Morgan moving to dline and bringing in presumably BF for the Oline. I think the D will be about as seamless a transition as you can hope for. As far as the to be named Ocoordinator that remains to be seen for sure.

Doubtful. I think we will see a base 3-4 with a ton of zone blitzes mixed in on first and second down - you'll think you're watching Dom Capers coaching. In passing situations against spread teams, we will see a pure dime package with 4 and 5 star corners manned up a yard off the line on the receivers with corner blitzes thrown in. In running situations, we'll see a Buddy Ryan-esque 46 that will be a wall.
