Hmmm weren't they trying to have the title game on New Years Day?

No, the title game was always going to be 7-9 days after New Years.
At least this locks in the traditonal kickoff time and place for the Rose Bowl,as much as Dan Wetzel will hate it.

Why in the name of God is Jim Delany signing ANYTHING with Espin?
Can we please cut all ties with that SEC pimpin' dumpster fire once and for all?!?!

Actually, the Big Ten and Delany own ESPN. ESPN has the $$ and the Big Ten has the audience. Its just good business. Oh, and its better than your games being played on FX between reruns of Damages.
