I think that they also said that any Penn State player that goes elsewhere will not count towards that teams scholership limit.

I'll gladly admit it if I'm wrong especially if Iowa can pick up someone.

I'm sorry but I feel this is a failure on Emmert's part, I think he should have included 1-2 year suspension of football operations as well.

Their fans will remain loyal no doubt, but unless some of their recruits grew up diehard PSU fans I don't see any reason that they'd want to stay at PSU and not be able to play in the postseason and put up with endless amounts of taunting/venom.

Disappointed. Not punitive enough. Does not effectively change the culture at psu.

    WHAT ABOUT SANDERPSKY'S VICTIMS???

The B1G will have their press conference in an hour. They may do something themselves.

Exactly. That stadium needed to stand quite for a couple of years. Not enough.

That guy is going to visit Nebraska. I doubt Iowa picks up a single PSU de-commit.

Ill bet not, just based on Emmerit's statement about working withthe bigten going forward. I would think that they spoke to delaney and the B1G decision prior to speaking, and would not of said anything if banishment were to come.

We'll see in an hour or so.

I wasn't trying to insinuate we had a shot at that guy.

SMU was actually allowed to play in '88, but they elected to sit that season out because they couldn't field a viable team.
Keep in mind Penn State does not compete for recruits like SMU does, which is why they needed to cheat. The state of Texas is heavily recruited by in state and out of state schools. Penn State is the king of the east and they recruit against mainly Pitt and Rutgers.

Penn State will be able to recover from this a lot faster than SMU.
