Re: What is it going to take? How bad does it have to get???????
We have started to grow used to mediocrity and accepting of it. Kirk is soooooo over rated! Until he is gone and Iowa demands better, I'm holding onto my money. No more going to Kinnick and no more buying Iowa gear. It's a small thing, but it's how I choose to show my disgust. Iowa deserves better!
Iowa football could truly be a top tier program, if we only held it to a higher standard.

You are not alone. More and more people are doing what you are.
ferentz is not over rated anymore. Most college football folks see him as exposed right now for what he's been all along. The only difference now is that he has nobody on his staff that can recruit like he did in the beginning.

Re: What is it going to take? How bad does it have to get???????
You say feel free to post anything when it comes to Iowa football, but what you really mean is feel free to post anything as long as you agree with me! I have no problem with all of the posts wanting KF fired even though I don't agree with them and I can just agree to disagree. You, however, seem to think that everyone should want him fired, and if we don't then we are pathetic, etc.... Last time I checked, we had just as much right to our opinion as you do, without being put down for it.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.................are you telling me what to do? How dare you. I thought you just got done giving me a dumb speech telling me not to do that.
Unlike you I don't cry. At least not on here anyway. And I also could not care less if you are a loyal fan or not or whatever you were blabbing about. Feel free to blab, just don't direct it toward me. I don't care what you think about college football for obvious reasons.

Re: What is it going to take? How bad does it have to get???????
To answer the OP:
1. A lot. I read 22 mil give or take. But that number goes down over time.
2. Two more seasons missing a bowl will prolly get it done. 2 wins or less next year might do it as well. But if he makes a bowl next year, all is forgiven. If he wins 8 or more, he'll get another raise and extension. If he makes it to the rose bowl, he will get lifetime tenure with hereditary succession.

Re: What is it going to take? How bad does it have to get???????
The odds of ferentz leaving and passing up all those millions of Iowa dollars is about the same as when lickliter was given the opportunity to leave and pass up all those millions. Lickliter didn't pass up the money and neither will ferentz. If I was the Iowa coach, I probably wouldn't pass up all that money either. How bad would it have to get for ferentz to forfeit millions of dollars? Is there such a thing?

Re: What is it going to take? How bad does it have to get???????
I guess the way I see it, people have the right to post complaints about the coaching staff if they want. Yeah, it's repetetive. Yeah, it gets old. But this is a message board, and this is the USA, where I thought freedom of speech was still a right?
My guess is that those who complain about threads like this disagree with the premise of what the OP is saying, so why not start threads of your own, stating YOUR position on Iowa Football instead of telling people to stop posting opinions that you disagree with?
Besides, what else is there really to talk about right now? With 3-straight down/disappointing seasons, you could say that Iowa Football has been repetetive (and not in a good way), so the message board topics are going to follow suit.

Re: What is it going to take? How bad does it have to get???????
I believe this is the right answer. And if KF gets fired, let's say TODAY, he still is owed over $20 million. If he doesn't get fired, and stays through 2020, he will make over $30 million if I'm not mistaken. He would be a fool to walk away from the cushy situation he's got.
That's why I also dont' think he's going to the NFL, even if he were offered a job. He could go there, make maybe $10 million or so over two years, then get fired? He has job security at Iowa that he won't get most anywhere else. Especially along with the salary he's getting. He's our coach for the forseeable future.

Re: What is it going to take? How bad does it have to get???????
Yes, it's foolish to expect a fan base that is ticked off, because of the downward direction of this program, not to want to vent at how inept the coach is. For those still needing proof.....
1. Three straight seasons where expectations have not come close to being met.
2. A significant decline in talent.
3. Absolutely horrible offenses for most of ferentz' season here
4. 114th rated offense this year.
5. A coach who conducts himself like there is nothing big that's wrong.
I could go on, but hopefully the ferentz apologists get it by now.

This thread is really pretty short if you have FREED, or fred, or comachero, or whatever his name is on your ignore list. Highly recommended.

Oh..............your little feelings hurt because you can't handle the truth? No need to answer. We all know the answer that question. Thanks for not paying attention to what I write. Oh, wait, you just did read. Seriously, please stop responding to my posts. I'd like people who can critically think to read and respond, no matter if they agree or disagree with me.

Re: What is it going to take? How bad does it have to get???????
I agree with your list with the exception of #1, that is on each fan individually and personally how they feel their expectations are met. A fan who wants an NC every year is going to be extremely disappointed, hell a fan who wants a winning record (more than 1 or 2 games over .500) and a decent bowl game every year is probably going to be disappointed.
Me personally, it isn't about a record or a particular bowl game as I am never disappointed in the team with the exception of 2007, that team still ticks me off. What I am disappointed in is KF inability to adapt/adjust to his teams ability/talent/skill level with the exception of Brad Banks in 2002 and then adjusting to his opponents as well, for example he even says his style of play is going to cause them to be in alot of close games and they always seem to play down to their opponents level and in recent seasons and especially this year, they are playing below their opponents level and clearly losing games that they should win.

Re: What is it going to take? How bad does it have to get???????
2007 ticked you off, but 2010 didn't. Don't understand that, but ok.
You mention the foolishness of ferentz not to adapt to the talent he has on the field. Nothing new. It will continue even if he doesn't win a game next year. That's why he needs to go somehow.
