Saddened to hear this. Mason has done a lot for the university and it's always hard to go through a change in leadership, no matter what. I think they should wait until things unfold a little more to find out exactly what happened. How many times have we seen someone make a reactionary move to this and then the person gets exonerated?

Just hold your horses, regents, and let the rest of the story come out first.

Just to clarify: I went to the NPR website and she has been working without a contract since August. She is currently an "employee at will." The board has had a sit down with her to outline the expectations that she needs to fulfill.

Now, from here is my opinion: Several incidents have occurred under her watch that have caused negative publicity and some consternation on the part of the Regents. Point taken. However, the Regents have gotten pretty goofy on several occasions lately, themselves. Any time Boards get too hands on and into details of the organization, personal board agendas get to be the tail that wags the dog. And, don't underestimate the possibility that some power struggles at the board level have added to the problem. They can be a pretty petty, jealous crowd. And, dream on: This almost certainly has nothing to do with football, KF or Gary Barta. I worked for citizen boads for 25 years and the major requirement is that they are still breathing.

I'm assuming you're referring to the perv Gray case...
First off, I think there's enough there to say this is the right call.
Secondly, usually when investigations are happening, those in the know usually know some (if not everything). So this may be a tell that some shhhtuff is coming down the pipe.
Additionally, this also may give a hint that the too brass may be changing out due to the current situations. IMO, the airtight buyout/contract warrants a change at the top (Mason/Barta).
