David Raih back on staff at Iowa?

I saw him in photo 5 from Saturday's photos of practice from hawkeyesports.com. He was out at UCLA with Nehuisel(sp?) for a while, back in Hawkeyeland? If so, good to see, knew him in college, great guy.

It appears he is a GA at Iowa now.

That's cool. He worked under Norm Chow and Neuheisel, now KF and KO. Certainly an asset to the staff, quasi QB coach, I'm sure that may make some people happy.

I believe he is taking over the GA duties for Dan Clark who has moved on.

He's going to be working with the OL.

It is Dallas's brother, not sure where he landed though.

Good to hear. I've met Raih a few times and you couldn't find a nicer kid.

Is David Raih that story from one of the papers that gave it all up to go into coaching?

Yes. He had a job selling surgical supplies etc and I heard he was doing well. He gave it up for a coaching offer. I've met him a few times. Really really nice guy.

IIRC David Raih also dated Bowlsby's daughter while he was on the Iowa football team. BTW Drew Tate's success as a sophomore (to a certain degree) was based on mentoring by Raih.

I have a suspicious feeling that he will swap in that GA position for an assistant coach position at Iowa in the future.
