Consistency looking for in Hunter?
I think he has had a good spring. He has been more consistent. This has been his best time since he has been here.

Re: Assistant Pressers as I type
Expect big year Klug?
I thought he was a good player last year. I think he is a very good player. He doesnt ge the pub but he is as good as a player as we have on our defense.
he has worked hard to get where he is, 240 when he got here?
When we think about him, we think of Matt Roth, King and Kroul, that is our impression and apprecition for Klug, is like Roth, King and Kroul.

Re: Assistant Pressers as I type
One or two WR could give DB a challenge?
They all give us trouble. I only coach the defense. when they are over there I dont even know who is over there. Our receivers are good sized receivers

Bring up Orange Bowl performance or flushed?
We started out the spring by showing them all the bad plays in the Orange Bowl. That game is over. The kids played well and hard, and prepared hard. It doesnt count any more. We have to correct the mistakes we made in that game and there were.

How about health?
I feel great. Getting stronger. I am not sure if I swung a golf club I wouldnt fall down. I need to work on that.

Re: Assistant Pressers as I type
Been doing this since 1965?
Yeah.
What still gets you going, drives you?
One person asked me what the most exciting things are? before, it was winning a game. That was the biggest thing. The thing that makes you the happiest now is to see the looks on the faces of the players after they have done something good. I dont know that winning the Orange bowl was the charge as much as the looks on the faces of the players when they knew they had done something. The Penn State game, our guys prepared hard and put a lot into it, when they won, to see their faces, that meant more than winning the game. Maybe that means you are getting old or seeing hte game the way you should see it. But to see the players work hard and appreciate they work hard, and to see them...its not so much the game, but the journey. If you prepare along the way, the game takes care of itself.

How often can you do this?
I will probably croak on the field some day. I hope we are ahead when I do.

Re: Assistant Pressers as I type
How do you see Angerer fitting in at next level?
Angerer is a much better athlete than people might think. He has great ball skills, he is a good athlete, he is just not a big guy. Ball skills and the ability to turn and run, he probably is as athletic as Greenway. He is just not big. People arent wowed by him when he walks into the room. But on film, he was a good middle linebacker.
How about AJ?
he is a good player too. I think those guys have a chance. They have to hit the right team, it depends on who needs what and all of that, but they have a chance.
Amari Spievey?
This is not a pro draft meeting, is it? It all depends on what guys need and where you fit into the puzzle. Who knows what those guys are thinking. A guy could be a great high school player and not work out at college, and same for the pros. Some guys are better pros than they were college players. It's up to those guys. Getting drafted is like signing an LOI...that is the start, now you have to go play. Signing the letter doesnt mean you play, it means you have a chance to play. The ball is in their court.

Re: Assistant Pressers as I type
Is the Angerer/Edds replacement as daunting as King and Kroul?
I think it's the same. Somebody has to step up and take it over. Here is an example we make to the team; remember a pie tin your mother used to cook in? If you took that, and made 11 different marks, sections inside it, and each one of those you counted as a position ,and you stuck a hole through it, the water comes out that hole. So no matter where the hole is, the ball will find it. The water comes in. It doesn't matter. In the defense, its the same way..if there is a hole, the ball will find it. You have to have all the holes plugged up, and one hole is not any more important than the other.
The MLB is like the QB, that is important. He does a lot of checking and directing the band. that is the biggest thing for that position. A lot of guys like to play in the band but not everyone wants to lead the band. The MLB has to say he will lead it. ANgerer had no problem. Abdul Hodge said I'll lead the band. that is what you have to have there, someone that wants to lead the band.

Re: Assistant Pressers as I type
Does Tarp fit that?
yeah. I think. Tarp is a very intelligent guy. When he grows up, he won't be a coach.

Re: Assistant Pressers as I type
Pairings: AngererEdds, King/Kroul, where do Sash and Greenwood fit it?
Where do they fit in where?
Great safeties?
Are they as good as Sanders and considine? We will see. They should be better. This should be Greenwood's best year, same for Sash. They should be expected to do more than they did last year.

Re: Assistant Pressers as I type
How did Amari's decision to leave impact immediate concerns at corner and secondary in general?
It's having to replace two to now three. That is a part of life. I think everyone has to do what is best for them. We all have our own story.
