Well, looks like WVU has been smitten by both the SEC and the ACC according to multiple sources on Twitter. ISU fans drooling over their new potential rivalry with the Mountaineers now.

I saw some rumors on twitter last night that the SEC rejected them because they were concerned about WV's academics.

Yeah, when I think of the SEC, academics isn't the first thing that comes to mind.

Most likely, the SEC and ACC rejected WVU because they bring very little to the table. They are in a state that has a population of 1.8 million people; around 1.2 million less than Iowa. They are also one of the poorest states in the country. So no eyeballs and no money, NO SOUP FOR YOU!
