It seems apparent that universities that are members of the American Association of Universities are not faring as well compared to those that are not. In the final BCS standings only 7 AAU teams made the top 25. The overall winning percentage for the group was .511, slightly over 50%. Of the 37 teams only 16 had a winning record, 10 were even between wins and losses, and 11 had losing records.

This year might be an anomaly, but it may point out that the playing field may not be the same.
