2012 Alabama Football Commits

Bama has 27 commits? i thought the SEC changed its rules on how big a class you can have...

Re: Alabama recruiting question

They had asked a running back to wait until next year to sign with them so they got down to 26. Still too many though.

Re: Alabama recruiting question

they can sign more but only 25 can make it to campus. they probably will have at least one that can't qualify

oh i know that, but it will be interesting to see if the conference has the balls to challenge one of their darlings. cheaters will always find a way to cheat, and there still are no rules on "cutting" players to meet the 85 limit, but i thought the SEC put the class cap at 25. we'll see if that was just a suggestion...

Re: Alabama recruiting question

If any are early enrollee's they don't count, not quite sure how that works, but that is the NCAA for you.

early enrolers count toward the previous year, and as of right now this ain't cheating.

Re: Alabama recruiting question

Will be interesting to see how long it takes for this policy to show on the field. Might start making sense to keep an eye on early lower ranked commitments to SEC programs.

Incorrect, a new rule states that that an SEC program can sign only twenty-five players a year.

New NCAA rules may send Alabama recruit Justin Taylor elsewhere - Andy Staples - SI.com

Re: Alabama recruiting question

The ones they don't sign this year, Coach will get them a job on campus somewhere, give them a letter stating they will be on the team next year. I thought players signed a letter of intent, not coaches. Got to love the SEC!!

Re: Alabama recruiting question

You actually expect the SEC to enforce a rule? The only rule they enforce/follow is the unwritten rule of you have to cheat to win.
