Poor NCAA Oversight- Bad NBA Draft Rule

by troy on 05-30-2010 at 02:43 PM
The NCAA's oversight in Men's D-1 basketball is terrible! Jim Calhoun allows assistants to take the fall for recruiting violations, and Teflon John Calipari stays one step ahead of the law. The NBA's "one-year of college" rule is also hurting college basketball by creating an atmosphere ripe for rule-breaking. One successful year of "playing" or "coaching" in college is worth millions in future salaries. Many elite high school players are not interested in college,

Orange Bowl Chat was informative

by troy on 01-10-2010 at 07:28 PM
I never previously considered participating in something like a "Live Chat" for a football game before this site. I attend most Hawkeye home games and hit the sports bars for the away games. I enjoyed following the Orange Bowl via live chat- for the first time last night. It was like having several extra sets of eyes to help follow the game. It enhanced my TV viewing experience. Unreal how technology has changed and continues to change.

What would a Rose Bowl Victory Mean?

by troy on 10-25-2009 at 10:20 PM
What would a Rose Bowl Victory Mean? I think a Rose Bowl victory would mean everything, especially when you think about Iowa football history. It’s been a half century since the Hawks won. A Rose Bowl win would be career defining for Kirk Ferentz, and might provide a bit of redemption for Hayden Fry, with a coach from his coaching tree winning the big game while coaching at Iowa.

Credit Ken O'Keefe for a clever last play call!

by troy on 10-25-2009 at 10:15 PM
Credit Ken O'Keefe for a clever last play call! With Moeaki in motion, attention was diverted towards Tony, clearing the left side for Marvelous Marvin McNutt to securely snag Stanzi's sure strike! Simply sensational! Sorry, Sparty!
