My first reaction is, they can have him. I haven't been impressed with his skills as a Manager. As a Cub fan I have become a little jaded. I think if he came to the Cubs, it would be a disaster, but if he goes to the Cardinals, he will have multiple rings by the time he retires. That's how it always seems to go for the Cubs. Let's hope the new front office can change all that.

I don't want him in STL either. I just found it funny they would even interview him.

Who are Cardinal fans hoping for?

What doesn't impress you, DJL? He's had 2 Manager of The Year Awards while in the minors and lead his Phillies affiliate to their best ever record last season. I'm just curious because I think the Cubs are making a huge mistake...unless they're hoping he's available when they're ready to win.

+1. Cardinals fans think that Cubs fans are wringing their hands over this, but this particular Cubs fan doesn't really care. I'd rather not see a Cubs legend tarnish his legacy at all by falling flat as a manager. Not saying that's what would happen, but I'm not bothered at all by the thought of Sandberg in St. Louie.

Ryno wouldn't "tarnish his reputation" if he failed as a manager. I don't know why anyone would think any less of him. That logic is silly on it's face, for one thing it's not your reputation to tarnish.

I didnt' realize he did that well last year, I haven't been following him since he left Des Moines. I saw him at Iowa around 20 times, saw him get thrown out a couple of times. That didn't bother me. To be fair, a small sample size probably isn't fair to judge him on. With that said, we hired a triple A manager for last year and it didn't work. Maybe we let Ryno go someplace else to learn big league managing for a while and then come back. Maybe he could start in Chicago as a bench coach.

Fair enough and I wouldn't mind seeing him go the bench coach route either!

Re: Hey Cubs fans...

I think it is funny the Cardinals are turning to a former Cubs player to be their manager.

Re: Hey Cubs fans...

I would love Brenly but think he is too blunt to todays players and might hurt their feelings because most are overpaid babies.
