I Like Tim Tebow
For one thing, I never understood the hate. I never understood why people bitched about all the coverage he got at Florida. Did he get a ton of coverage? Yes, but it's not like he didn't deserve it. Statistically he was the best QB in the history of college football and it really wasn't even close. He did things at the QB position that no one ever had, he literally re-invented the position, or at least invented a new way to play the position. Why wouldn't that get all kinds of media exposure?
Now that he's moved on the NFL it's even more fun to like him? Why? Because **** you that's why. He can't be a QB in the NFL? **** you he is. He can't win at the QB position in the NFL? **** you he is. He can't win long term or cant win a super bowl in the NFL? Well, that might be true, but **** you anyway.
The best part about it is, the kind of person he is. The next person who has met him and speaks negatively about him will be the first. Anyone who has ever talked publicly about him uses words like, genuine, humble, self-less, competitor, and winner. When he kneels on the ground and puts the fist to the forehead I have no doubt at all he's being genuine, and true to himself and who he is, consequences be damned. At the same time it seems to **** people off to no end, so in essence it's like a big giant **** you to them.
He is who he is, and doesn't care about what anyone else thinks about him. All he does is go out and win. That last part might change at some point, but the first part never will.

Re: I Like Tim Tebow
I was hoping that Denver would beat the Jets last night for two reasons:
First and foremost, Tebow deserves better. He didn't draft himself in the first round and he sure as hell didn't make Orton look like the inept QB that he truly is. The kid got a shot and he's done nothing but win.
Second - I have a polar opposite opinion of Mark Sanchez. I think he is one of, if not the, worst QB in the NFL. Plus he's a complete tool.

Why do grown men gush over Timmy T? Self-respect is not overrated, please keep your Tebowners away from the public eye.

Hey Kyle Orton won 10 games as a rookie. Something Tim Tebow could never do. Tebow has only won four and it's already his second year.

What? Orton was on a good Bears team in '05. He started the season as the 3rd string QB (expected so not a knock) except the two ahead of him were Rex Grossman and Chad Hutchinson....wow, tons of competition there.
Orton started 15 games his rookie season inspite of being terrible (injury to Grossman and Hutchinson sucking). Once Grossman came back he started the playoff game. Orton finished his rookie season with the LOWEST QB rating among all QBs for the year.
Orton is terrible.

There, fixed it for you. The guy just found a way to win. That's the kind of leader I want.

Re: I Like Tim Tebow
Everything Duff posted is spot on that being said I just do not think he is a very good NFL QB or ever will be. If he is willing to make a switch to a H-back, TE, or fullback being a Steeler fan they could bring him in tomorrow and I would be thrilled.
The much maligned OC Bruce Arians could come up with some really creative packages for Tebow.

Tebow will blow Orton's career away.
