Orton heading back to the Bears?

He was cut today by the Broncos. Ouch.

It will be interesting to see if the Bears, Texans, Jags, Seahawks pick him up on waivers. If not he becomes a free agent.

I'd hardly call that an ouch. He is making 8 million this year to do nothing. I'd take that! I hope the Bears sign him.

Were Martz and Orton there at the same time?

It would be interesting to see Orton go back to the Bears. They play at Denver in a few weeks. Tebow vs Orton!

I'd rather stick with Hanie since he's been in this offense for a couple years. Orton's the better qb but not when he knows none of the offense.

Wow, they're really putting all of their eggs in the Tebow basket, aren't they?

Re: Orton heading back to the Bears?

I'm not so sure Martz is running "his" offense. Every time he has tried, Lovie tells him to run the damn ball. I think Orton would be fine. The problem I see is that the line is not very good and injuries are making it worse. Orton doesn't have Cutlers arm that can sneak throws into tight windows and he plays with cement blocks on his feet.

It might be better to have Hanie's legs in there because he will be pushed out of the pocket a lot, but I would be happy with either.

Apparently, Cutler and his agent went to the Broncos to get this done. See 4th paragraph of this story.

They've still got Brady Quinn, who started the season as the backup yet was skipped over for Tebow.

And if Elway's comments yesterday on his radio show are any indication (not to mention, his heartless clapping up in the box when Tebow scored that game winning TD against the Jets), he's still not sold on Tebow.
