Re: Pujols to the Angels

Is this the same kind of thread as "Apparently Pujols is a Marlin" in which they are now not even in consideration?

No sounds like he has agree'd to it. As a Cardinal fan i am sad to see him go, but also glad the Cardinals Brass had a brain cell here and let him walk.

I agree with you completely. It hurts to see him walk but the Cardinals do not need a 10 year deal on the books for that guy. You can see a decline in his stats already.

I am calling it right now...the Cards will sign Prince Fielder

I will call it now, Cards will sign some minor people but that will be it.

As a Cubs fan I was hoping he signed that long of a deal with the Cards.

There isn't a chance in hell he lives up to that contract. I give him 3 or 4 more good years and then the .260 with 15 HRs and 65 RBI's playing in under 100 games will kick in.

If I was a Cards fan I would be sad to see him go but happy as hell they didn't spend that money on him.

I am that Cardinals fan and I agree completely with you. The Cardinals will move on and be better in the long run not having that contract on the books.

I believe all Cards fans will be in the same boat. Sad to see the face of the team leave but there really is NO way anyone should pay him that much over that period of time. 10 Yr contracts in baseball NEVER work.

STL can sign 4 or 5 quality guys now.

It will be weird not seeing him on the team though.

I doubt they go for Prince - I believe the back up plan was to use Berkman at first in 2012.

I am glad to see him gone out of the Central. The Angels are doing us Cub fans a favor.
