In other news, The New England Patriots have home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs.

Martz's contract was up anyways. Amusing to see a resignation when there were only days left on the clock anyways.

It is about ****** time!

The success the Bears have had the past few years were not because of Angelo, they won in spite of him. He was one of the worst GMs in Chicago Bear history. The best moves the man had was negotiating contracts of current players and signing Peppers. One would argue the Bears gave to much for Cutler and he was THEE worst draft GM in the NFL.

Martz was to damn stubborn, he tried to make his offense work in a system that did not have the players to do it. The past 2 years it wasn't until Smith stepped in did they start playing to the strengths of their personal. I only wish the owners would make a decision on Smith and either put a ton of confidence behind him or part ways so that he can go out and get a good OC. Smith is a defensive minded coach so he needs a strong OC to compensate. The last time the Bears were shopping for a OC they had to settle for Martz because of all the rumors swirling around that Lovie only had 1 more year. When you got an offense that starts with Jay Cutler & Matt Forte they should be able to attract a decent OC.
