A.J is a scumbag and is hated across the league. Fans alike don't like him. This is a popularity contest. If people don't like you, you have no shot. Derek freaking Jeter, he of 0.9 WAR and statistically the worst SS in the game is starting. Bout all that needs to be said about the ASG. I am a HUGE Giants fan and there is no way Panda should be starting over David Wright who has the 2nd highest OPS in the league.

It's very easy to understand why he isn't on the team if you know the process

1. Fan vote. Fans don't like AJ and voted for Napoli
2. Player vote. Players don't like AJ and voted for Weiters
3. Coach vote. Needed to add a Twin to the team so Mauer gets the nod.

Where his #'s better than those guys? Yes. And it stinks but that's the process
