Just because people can use them doesn't mean they should.
Hell I better get one then because I can't putt for ****.

If it gives you a legal advantage why wouldn't you use it? If you give a long putter to a person that is a great putter wouldnt that just make him even better?

No, it doesn't help great putters because they are already making those 10 footers on a regular basis.

How do you know? Maybe if they used the long putter they can sink 20 footers regularly.

Because the long putter doesn'thelp that much with longer puts. The short putters have more feel to them which helps in judging the pace of the ball at longer distances.

Its Probley not great for longer putts. But people aren't gonna make those on a regular basis with any putter. But for 15 and in, especially 8-10 footers, it is helping those people.

you obviously aren't grasping my point and it has nothing to do with swinging a club. And its not worth my time to spell it out for you.

I am grasping your point. You can buy all different types of clubs built for every different swing. But they are all swung away from your body. Derrrp

and whats the point of the technology that the major companies put into the clubs? hit longer shots? more playability?

Is it fair that Player A can drive a ball 300 yards but Player B can only drive 280 because his driver is different than Player A's? If you want no advantages of any kind then the PGA needs to issue clubs that are all exactly the same and the players will be given rules on how to swing them so whiny people can stop crying about it.

Technology is different than manually changing a swing by using a different part of the body. I'm not sure how you can't understand that. They all have the same rules on how they can swing a golf club, and the putter should be no different.

They all have the access to the same technology, but they still have to hit it the same way: with nerves making it all the more hard.

This putter takes the nerves out of it. It's not the same as having a driver with the newest technology. If you can't square the clubface on a regular basis, you are still going to hit it like ****. If you can't hit the ball square and on line with a putter, that is your fault. You shouldn't have something manually allowing you to do that.

Re: Any of you use or have used a long putter?

Belly putters should and probably will be outlawed on tour. Nerves are so important in the game of golf and the belly putter takes that away b/c it keeps it on a level swing plane. It's an unfair advantage and the all time greats like Gary Player have been talking about it for years now. Adam Scott is a GREAT ball striker but has never been close to winning a major. He goes to the belly putter and all of a sudden he is finishing 2nd and should be winning majors. He was a horrid putter which is the most important part of the game.

All these guys have similiar drivers, irons, etc....so comparing that to the putter is a dumb argument
