Re: Howard to LA
Not going to make that much of a difference. Trade the 2nd best center in the NBA for the best.

Re:Howard to LA
Howard is the best center in the NBA by a wide margin. Put him with Kobe and Nash and you have yourself a title contender.

Re: Howard to LA
This trade makes no sense for Orlando... I don't get it at all. If they were gonna get raped why not wait till the deadline.

Re: Howard to LA
Disagree and Im no Laker fan. Phill would certainly make a huge difference but Steve Nash is one of the smartest players in the NBA if anyone doesn't need a coach its him.
Howards presence on defense and rebounding alone is a gigantic upgrade.
A Nash Howard pick n roll will be almost impossible to defend. All you really need is someone to convince Kobe to step aside and let those two do their thing.
Right now you have to say the Lakers are the odds on favorite.

Re: Howard to LA
- Kobe is coming off his worst shooting season since 1997
- Nash is coming off his worst 3 point shooting season since 1998
- Howard has pretty much no developed offensive game
- No lights out 3 point shooters to space the floor and let Dwight go to work
- Both Kobe and Nash are worse defensively than they have ever been in their careers“Really, Rick and the offensive line knew we were going to get it done. Nothing was going to stop us. You could’ve put 24 players out on defense and we were going to somehow get it done.”-DJK-

Re: Howard to LA
Not really. The reason the Nash/Amare pick and roll was so effective was because Amare was capable of popping and knocking down 20 foot jumpers. Couple the fact that Howard can only roll, with the fact that Nash's 3 pt percentage has dropped three years in a row, and I have a feeling it will be less effective than most people think. Throw in the fact that Kobe is turning into a chucker and is very inefficient offensively, and you have the makings of an extremely disappointing offense.

Re: Howard to LA
I think the Lakers are the favorites in the West and when they sign barbosa for instant offense off the bench that will be big. Not sure if they can beat Miami but they will give them one hell of a go at it

Re: Howard to LA
Big thing here is that LA was able to keep Gasol. Now they have the best defensive big man in the league and one of the most skilled offensive big men in the league.
Also picked up Jamison to come off the bench, possibly start over Artest. Great team guy who averaged 17 points a game last year.

Re: Howard to LA
Howard is overrated. Defenses can just foul him every time. Has there been a worse free throw shooter? I would have to try to miss 60% of my FTs.
