If you were a recruit and Iowa said well it may take a year or two to get you in, you gotta think, I'm going to sit behind these guys? (of course this is for players that are more highly touted)

Could be scary. We have seen it before in recruitng when we have a bad season it causes a poorer class and a few years down the line we have a poor year. It's cycles for Iowa.

I think you go in saying hey ya we had a bad year but recruits like you could help revamp our program. We dont just let high recruits come in and start but we are a D1 program and have had success your chances of playing here are better than Kansas 2-3 more kids like you and we could be scary good! That would get me to play for Iowa!

Wow-19 months since our Orange Bowl win and we get posts like these. I suspect most of the kids we are recruiting know a lot more about football than the complainers. And they will recall we went 11-2 and 8-5 the past 2 seasons before this one.

Down years happen. I can't believe people are ******** this so much because we have lost a couple games. If you can't be a fan in the down years then gtfo, you are not a true Hawkeye.

Why don't people understand this. If we weren't fans, we wouldn't *****. We ***** because we care. I grew up a Royals fan. I don't say a peep about them. Why? Because I stopped caring. Apathy as some would say. ******** means no apathy.

They are high school kids. Two seasons ago is an eternity.

You have to realize there are some fans without the passion. They are happy enough going to the game to socialize and are content with mediocrity. They love KF, because he is a good guy, and 2 times out of 7 years he will have a good season and that's good enough for lil 'ol Iowa.

These are the same fans who rip on other coaches who show passion on the sideline, but won't say a peep about the Brands brothers jumping around yelling.

It would not surprise me if we lost several to alot of the recruits committed to us right now....seriously...who wants to play for a coach who can't beat the garbage teams in the conference year in and year out.

I agree. Kids want to see playing time but they also want to play for a winner. Losing to a Minny team that will end up with 2 wins all year is a horrible way to show off your team's commitment to winning.

We all knew what we were staring at this year.

And still people are off-the-walls mental after losses.


The Minny loss does hurt recruiting.. today. Winning fixes everything though. Come out and take it to Mich this weekend at home, and things change.

If we beat Michigan, Michigan St or Nebraska it further shows that KF is a terrible gameday coach. I don't think some realize how bad Minny is. Even New Mexico State and North Dakota St took care of business.

KF in one of his best seasons almost blew it against UNI. This guy can't put bad teams away. Same gameplan against all opponents.
